Microsoft donates 500 patents to start-ups

San Francisco, March 29 (IANS) Expanding its "Azure IP Advantage" programme, Microsoft is donating 500 patents to start-ups that are part of a non-profit organisation called License On Transfer (LOT) Network.
Launched in 2018, the "Azure IP Advantage" programme protects users of Microsoft's cloud computing service -- Azure -- against patent trolls.

The Air Force Is Building AI to Fly Fighter Jets Called “Skyborg”

The U.S. Air Force recently announced a new artificial intelligence program that it’s calling “Skyborg,” which military leaders hope will be able to autonomously fly drones and fighter jets in the coming years.
Skyborg won’t be the first military AI system built in the U.S. — the Navy is already working on autonomous fighter vessels.

Smart pyjamas could detect why you're not sleeping well

The pyjamas you wear to bed may soon be able to tell how well you are sleeping.
MIT student has developed a cotton pyjama shirt that has sensors for monitoring breathing, heartbeat and movement.
The shirt can be used to monitor the wearer’s sleep quality, which is thought to be important for consolidating memories, or if they have breathing issues during the night.

Flipkart Deploys 100 Automated Robots In Its Bengaluru Delivery Hub Flipkart has deployed a swarm of 100 odd robots to help sort packages at one of its delivery hubs in the outskirts of Bengaluru. The robots, dubbed automated guided vehicles (AGVs), pick products from a conveyor belt, scan them and then drop them down a chute that’s assigned to a particular pin code. Lilium proves its electric air taxi can fly Flying taxi startup Lilium has completed its first phase of flight testing . Its Lilium Jet is now flying at speeds over 100 kilometres per hour.  Today, the company shared new flight footage and announced that it has completed its first dedicated manufacturing facility, a    3,000 square-meter space at its Munich, Germany, headquarters.
