Oh no, there’s AI whiskey now
Forget all those whiskey brands from musicians and celebs — there’s AI whiskey now. Microsoft this week announced it has teamed up with Finnish tech company Fourkind and Sweden-based distillery Mackmyra Whisky to create the “world’s first whisky developed with artificial intelligence.”
Until now, this entire process was done by humans with a specialized set of skills. For the AI blend, Mackmyra is turning part of the job over to the machines.
The AI, Mackmyra says, is capable of generating more than 70 million different recipes. And it will highlight those it predicts will be most popular and of the highest quality, based on the cask types that are currently on hand.

Germany's First ‘Electric’ Highway Charges Trucks as They Drive
Germany has opened the first stretch of a so-called electric highway that will connect hybrid trucks to overhead wires, allowing them to recharge while travelling on the country’s main transportation arteries.
The 10-kilometre (6-mile) stretch south of Frankfurt on Germany’s A5 autobahn was opened last week, the German state of Hesse said in a statement. One truck is using it now, with four more planned by 2020.

Hummingbird robot using AI to go soon where drones can’t
Your friendly neighbourhood hummingbirds. If drones had this combo, they would be able to manoeuvre better through collapsed buildings and other cluttered spaces to find trapped victims.
Purdue University researchers have engineered flying robots that behave like hummingbirds, trained by machine learning algorithms based on various techniques the bird uses naturally every day.
This means that after learning from a simulation, the robot “knows” how to move around on its own like a hummingbird would, such as discerning when to perform an escape manoeuvre.

‘Lilium Jet’ Is The Futuristic Mode Of Transport
As a child, we often dreamed about what the future would bring. Most of the time, it would be inspired by those futuristic cartoons that show off an entirely different society where buildings are different, clothes are weird, and flying cars zipping through the sky.
We are in an era where technology is evolving more rapidly, sometimes faster than we can comprehend, but it’s certainly making waves in our society. Today, the future we once dreamt is coming closer to reality, and I’m not just talking about 5G or third-gen foldable phones (pun intended), I’m talking about flying cars.

British Cows Connected to 5G Can Control Own Milking
We have recently heard some interesting ways that 5G wireless technology might change our lives in the future.
While 5G is set to launch in some limited areas of the United States this year, much of the rest of the world is not expected to receive widely available service until 2023.
One project in Britain, though, is already testing this superfast technology, but not on humans. Instead, the experiment involves an unlikely group of internet users - cows. The system connects the animals to 5G in an effort to automate the milking process.
